Those who hold the truth do so lightly, for it is a fragile thing, easily broken.

"All crows are liars."

This is the second exclusive event miniature I created for Takaan Reva Drowned in Flames. Since reading about the Raven Guard I have wanted to create an elite shock force still allied to the Warmaster. Precursors to the Night Lords, the Warmaster used the Raven Guard to sow fear and decent into populations. The Crow is a remnant of that time, a being who enjoyed the killing a little too much.

The crow is a harbinger of disaster, and I loved the idea of this marine being in the scouting elements to locate Takaan Reva, silently having in the void after real space translation, just watching this planet full of life that he was going to murder. It is unknown whether he ran his quarry (Ghost) down or continues the hunt for him still across a galaxy ablaze with civil war.

"A seeker of great and terrible things, a betrayed son and father to murdered children."

This piece was created for the Imperial Truth podcast event Takaan Reva Drowned in Flames. This mysterious fellow had been enlisted by the Sigilite for the retrieval of a certain artefact on the world being annihilated in the crossfire between the warring legions. It is unknown whether he secured his objective, escaped, or was killed by the Warmaster's agent; The Crow.

Created in limited numbers in the latter days of the Great Crusade, the Leviathan pattern Siege Dreadnought was developed in secret on Terra, away from the pervasive oculars of the Mechanicum. Its massive frame incorporates hybridised technologies, some dating back into the dim past of humanity.

Towering over later Imperial walker patterns, this heavily armoured dreadnought is savagely powerful. It was designed for siege warfare and primarily armed with close combat and support weaponry that can rend buildings, vehicles and flesh alike; though it is no less effective when armed with the powerful and esoteric short ranged weaponry uniquely developed for it. The Leviathan’s oversized reactor allows it to bear weapons more powerful than other classes of dreadnought, and also powers reinforced energy fields that surpass those developed for the Contemptor class.

Power has its cost though, and the systems of the Leviathan place a lethal level of strain on the minds its occupants. Those few examples that survive in the armouries of Space Marine Chapters into the 41st Millennium are reserved for the direst of circumstances. Marines who find themselves interred within a Leviathan will pay a heavy toll; either with their life, or their reason.

This model afforded us so many possibilities. The client and I decided to go old school and route out the old field police scheme.

Primarch of the Ultramarines Legion and Master of the Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar, Roboute Guilliman is an indefatigable warrior, consummate tactician and statesman without parallel. He has forged the XIIIth Legion to be a disciplined and deadly force; one which fights with seamless tactical integration.

His mastery of strategy makes him not only an skilled commander, but also a lethal combatant. An expert in the arts of war, Guilliman possesses a vast selection of weapons and wargear. The most iconic of which include the Hand of Dominion, a unique power gauntlet, the Gladius Incandor, a shimmering blade of great artifice and the Arbitrator, a customised combi-bolter.

This model was painted as part of a masterclass series of online tuitions, guiding the student through painting marble, freehand and faces. Please check out the below link for information on how to sign up for these masterclass courses:

An Imperial Knight is a small combat walker that is a one-man version of a Titan. However, a Knight is smaller and less capable in combat than even the smallest class of true Titan utilised by the Titan Legions, the Warhound-class Scout Titan

Knights normally deploy in squadrons comprised of several of these war machines. These ancient battlesuits stand thirty to forty feet tall, are protected by nearly impenetrable Ion Shields and armed with a devastating array of heavy weapons. Imperial Knights are colossal war machines that tower over the battlefield.

They are propelled into battle by powerful servos and have the power to kick over tanks and crush soldiers into red paste. Vulnerable limbs and joints are protected by sweeping armour plates of adamantium and supported by an incorporated Ion Shield which responds to the thought-commands of its noble pilot. The presence of just one of these towering engines of destruction is enough to change the course of a battle, and only the Titans of the Adeptus Mechanicus are more feared by the enemies of Mankind.

This isn't your usual commission.

As many of you are aware, I run one to one online painting masterclasses (details here if you would like to apply), through which I met a gentleman who lives in New Zealand. His brother was getting married in the UK, so what better gift could a sibling (and best man) give than a God Machine painted by his own hand? I set aside three days to complete the project and have me guide him through the process of painting such a large scale miniature, tutoring him on real metallics, heat warping effects and freehand litany design.

Unfortunately the bellicose spirit of the War Hound overwhelmed the best man at the speeches and he ended up screaming 'FOR THE EMPEROR' at a room full of bewildered guests. Don't worry, he wasn't embarrassed, the Nuptias Imperator D plated them off the board.

Many happy returns to the newly Wed couple and the brother who travelled around the world for a panting lesson! Thanks for the socks and the scarf I have now stolen.
