Not only are these monstrously huge miniatures, but they are rather difficult to photograph as well. Like the other Tau suit, I had to wrap my head around painting miniatures in this scale, to to assemble them and learn where the miniatures can take the stress in the pose.

Unlike the other Primus Medicae's I've painted the client requested this to be painted in feared Justerin plate. I didn't want to add blood effects or much in the way of grime effects as I wanted this model to be obsessively spit polished. I imagine the character is quite fastidious, relentlessly cleaning equipment, armour etc.

This model is gigantic! It was quite an education in how to go about painting miniatures of this size. The usual shading and highlighting doesn't work as the size is already there, you don't want to over emphasise the scale while painting.

I just wanted to scream 'Winess Me!' while painting these guys. I wanted warm tones to contrast with the slightly green tones used in the higher shades of the yellow.

Part of a much larger Storm Cast Eternal commission - the Prosecutors! Unlike the other miniatures I wanted to include a counter point to the moody blue hues used throughout and have golden wings.

This model is packed full of fantastic little details (like the plasma packs) which made it an absolute joy to paint. This is part of a larger World Eaters Commission crashing its way to Terra.

Remember this colour scheme from Rogue Trader?

These special release miniatures give me the opportunity to look at these kinds of chapters/ marines. You don't need to buy a whole army, just one model to experiment with. You may have noticed that this isn't a straight up grey - and you'd be right. Try adding desaturated blues (like games workshop's Incubi Darkness, or Formula P3's Coal Black) to add a bit of a kick to your blacks.

Is there any other model that screams 'Heresy' more than than the Spartan Assault Tank? The thing is ubiquitous, iconic, and a ruddy great slab of resin to place front in centre of the force. I wanted this to be slightly more weathered than the other World Eaters vehicles I have painted of this force. A combination of hairspray chipping, sponge chipping and weathering powders produced this effect.

[Pict_Render: Seige of Terra]

I've been saving that base for a special project. From the very outset I wanted this force to be based in the final days the siege of Terra, when the air is thick with the dust of uncounted statues shattered by artillery. The black was highlighted with bone colours rather than pure black and white and the red was created using this tutorial.

As with my other Blood Angels, I do no consider this complete as I am waiting for Forgeworld to release their decal sheet.

Happy New Year everyone! This is the first post of the new year and sees a continuation of the Stormcast Eternal commissions. This model was painted in midnight hues, shading desaturated blue tones with purple and highlighting it with turquoise.

Moving with incredible speed and purpose, a front line of Protectors is a marvelous sight that strikes fear into the heart of the followers of Chaos. Able to weave their Stormstrike Glaives in intricate patterns that create strange shields of celestial energy, the Protectors cast the incoming projectiles aside in a display of their inexorable advance. Once they draw close to the enemy, the Protectors use their dextrous abilities to carve, slice and annihilate!

Legends are told all across the mortal realms of the Great Drake, Dracothion. An immense creature, ruler of the night sky, his form has been picked out in stars across the firmament for countless generations, inspiring awe and wonder in all who gaze at the heavens. His offspring, the Stardrakes, descended from the constellations above - huge, reptilian creatures with vast wings and serpentine necks, noble of aspect and filled with celestial magic. Ridden into battle by the strongest and most powerful warriors of the Stormcast Eternals Extremis Chamber, these fearsome creatures of Order can tear apart even the most berserk champion of Chaos in mere seconds.

Sai Balan, Tellon Vallo 134;14, Medicae of the Fifth Host.

Like their counterparts in the III legion, apothecaries held a hunted position within the choirs of Blood Angels, an honoured legacy that persists into the 41st millennium. Although no less exceptional in craft than their brother legions, the changes wrought upon those entering the legion were much more traumatic. Purification of blood with the living blood of the Angel helped mitigate any genetic flaws that existed in the aspirant. The Sanguinator core held potions of this vitae ready to be administered to those whose zealotry overcame reason.
